The African-American Marketplace

By Michael T. Hill

African Americans are a key segment in the American economy. Many marketing firms, major corporations and cultures de-value the African American consumer. Thinking one size or one group fits all; they often overlook the economic, education, demographic segmentations and cultural experiences which make up this globally diverse population. We see this oversight as a strategic opportunity to capture a significant share of a growing trillion dollar consumer base.

Historically faced with economic difficulties and continuously challenged with every changing barrier to entry, the African-American consumer remains resilient and more optimistic than other Americans about their own personal financial situation and tends to be more positive about the future of the American economy.
