Atlanta, GA. – The Atlanta Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce (AMBCC) has launched it’s new website, at http://www.ambcc.org. The majorly redesigned site was created by AMBCC member Asya Rahim, of Einfusion, LLC.
According to AMBCC President Michael Hill, the site was created to fulfill the needs of members and the African American community as a whole. Based on the research of how these groups use the internet and social media, the new website contains:
- Industry specific content from chamber members
- Easily accessible and manageable written, audio and video content
- Direct access to member information and services
- An interactive resource guide using new digital platforms
“The content will be more relevant to our users because it provides a more robust information tool to use for their industries,” Hill said of the new site. “I am most excited about the blogging feature, which will be contributed to by chamber members and industry leaders, and the resource guide, which will include industry specific research, case studies and surveys.”
More Content
Web developer Rahim, will unveil the website in three phases. The first phase being a content phase, followed by a feature phase. The content, which will be generated from an array of sources, will include member blog posts, industry news and user contributed events and posts.
Better Technology
The site, built using the WordPress platform, now contains more interactive features. Integrated Facebook and Twitter streams allow users to stay connected with top of the minute social media updates. Rolling ads and external links provide users contact to AMBCC sponsors and partners. The AMBCC TV video gallery gives users an inside look into AMBCC events and member appearances.
Easier Access
The WordPress platform allows users other than the developer, to access the back end of the website to contribute and post content. Rahim said that the website can be managed by anyone, including non-tech-savvy members. Once members begin to contribute to the site, they will also see how easy it is to use the free open source platform. They can then use that knowledge to build or improve their own small business websites.
The biggest benefit of the new site is to create a tool to access important information. Users can stay up to date with news affecting their industry, business, community, government and news relevant to the African American consumer.
